Description
This piece of artwork, “The First Fortune in the World”, originated from the Qing Dynasty Emperor Kangxi when he was praying for the blessing of his grandmother. The word “Fortune” contains five characters of “son, field, talent, longevity, and good fortune”, which means “many sons, many fields, many talents, many lives, and many blessings”, and is unique throughout history. It means “many sons, many fields, many talents, many lives and many blessings”, which is a blessing of “five blessings in one”, and is unique in the past and the present.
The whole body of this piece is covered with high temperature copper-red glaze, after high temperature firing the glaze is glistening, showing a rich and pure ruby red color. The color red represents good fortune, joy and justice in China.
